Tennis Tournament

Great fun, competition and opportunities await you!

The 2014 Celebrity Classic Tennis Tournament will be held Friday, April 11, at Cooper Creek Park and gives guests the opportunity to participate in a variety of clinics conducted by Peter Burwash International tennis professionals followed by round robin tournaments. The day concludes with an award presentation and drawing for many outstanding trips and prizes. The Junior Tennis Clinic will be Saturday, April 12, at Cooper Creek Park and allows children in our community the chance to receive professional tennis instruction.

The Celebrity Classic has grown from the two signature events, golf and tennis, to include 5K and 10K Runs and the Wheels to Heal Bike Ride. The Classic team also brings in the youth of our area to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from great tennis and golf pros in juniors’ clinics for each event. Caring for those in need is a respected tradition in our community. Your support of the Celebrity Classic strengthens and enriches that tradition.

The Columbus Regional Medical Foundation

The Columbus Regional Health Foundation was established in 1983 to support the health, medical and educational programs and services of Midtown Medical Center. With its strong belief in strength through stewardship, the Foundation contributes countless hours and generous financial support to benefit the community. As we grow, the Columbus Regional Health Foundation continues to identify ways to make the Columbus region a healthier place to flourish.

The Foundation is host for the Celebrity Classic Golf and Tennis Tournaments and 5K/10K River Runs and Wheels to Heal Bike Ride. All proceeds from this year’s classic will benefit the John B. Amos Cancer Center. The Center provides a comprehensive, integrated service program for cancer patients and their families and remains on the leading edge of cancer treatment through technology, research, board-certified physicians and oncology-certified staff.

Columbus Regional Health Foundation also supports Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) at Midtown Medical Center. Through organizational and financial support, the Foundation participates in local CMN efforts to raise funds that help children receiving treatment at Midtown Medical Center, one of 170 CMN-affiliated hospitals nationwide. Last year those efforts brought in more than $600,000 for children’s services at Midtown Medical Center.

The Foundation also promotes training and continuing education in the health sciences through support of programs such as the Bunch McClellan Nursing Scholarship, the Fred Aranas Memorial Scholarship for Radiologic Technology and the Sue Schley Mathews Pediatric Nursing Fellowship Fund.

As the region's leading provider of healthcare, Columbus Regional Health has touched the lives of most of the children and adults in this region through its comprehensive network of services. Located in the West Georgia city of Columbus, Columbus Regional was established in 1986 as a not-for-profit health services organization, but its roots can be traced back to 1836 when the local hospital was a small wooden building on the banks of the Chattahoochee River.
