Mandee Rollins’ Story
Patient of Dr. James Bartley, Jr.
When you’re a mother of two like Mandee, you’re on the move. There’s soccer practice, soccer games, dance lessons, football, scouts and classroom mother duties. Plus, if you’re a working mother of two, like Mandee, that means you’re on your feet all day plus running the mom shuttle on afternoons, evenings and weekends.
When a ruptured ankle ligament in May 2010 stubbornly refused to heal, Mandee realized her ankle sprain needed serious help. So Mandee turned to Doctors Hospital to get her back on her feet.
Dr. James Bartley and the team at Doctors Hospital repaired her ruptured ligament and shortened and reattached another stretched ligament. To further stabilize her ankle, Dr. Bartley added two supportive titanium pins. Mandee’s surgery and post surgery recovery took less than a day, so she was able to recover in the comfort of home.
Mandee’s long-term recovery included a thorough program of rehabilitative therapy designed to help her recover maximum range of motion in her ankle. Mandee’s hard work and determination paid off. She went from walker to cane and was fully-released for normal activities before the summer was over.
Columbus Regional Doctors Hospital got Mandee back to work, back to the soccer fields and back to the exhausting but wonderful business of being mom.
