Celebrity Classic
Classic golf. Classic tennis. Classic fun. The 2013 Celebrity Classic Golf and Tennis Tournaments, 5K/10K River Run and the “Wheels To Heal” Bike Challenge are all this and much more.
The 2013 Celebrity Classic will be held Friday, April 12 through Monday, April 15. The “Wheels to Heal” Bike Event will be held Sunday, April 28. To date, the event has raised $2.6 million.
This premier charity event gives sponsors the opportunity to reward special clients, business associates and themselves. Participants receive awards, entertainment, professional presentations and much more.
Celebrating its 18th anniversary, the Celebrity Classic will offer unique opportunities. As a participant, they will join Synovus Financial Corp. and other leading corporate citizens to help the Columbus Regional Medical Foundation surpass this year’s monetary goal for the John B. Amos Cancer Center.
The Celebrity Classic has grown from the two signature events, golf and tennis to include 5K and 10K Runs and the Wheels to Heal Bike Ride. The Classic team also brings in the youth of our area to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from great tennis and golf pros in juniors’ clinics for each event. Caring for those in need is a respected tradition in our community. Your support of the Celebrity Classic strengthens and enriches that tradition.

The Columbus Regional Medical Foundation
The Columbus Regional Medical Foundation was established in 1983 to support the health, medical and educational programs and services of The Medical Center. With its strong belief in strength through stewardship, the Foundation contributes countless hours and generous financial support to benefit the community. As we grow, the Columbus Regional Medical Foundation continues to identify ways to make the Columbus region a healthier place to flourish.
The Foundation is host for the Celebrity Classic Golf and Tennis Tournaments and 5K/10K Runs and Wheels to Heal Bike Ride. All proceeds from this year’s classic will benefit the John B. Amos Cancer Center. The Center provides a comprehensive, integrated service program for cancer patients and their families and remains on the leading edge of cancer treatment through technology, research, board-certified physicians and oncology-certified staff.
Columbus Regional Medical Foundation also supports Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) at The Medical Center. Through organizational and financial support, the Foundation participates in local CMN efforts to raise funds that help children receiving treatment at The Medical Center, one of 170 CMN-affiliated hospitals nationwide. Last year those efforts brought in more than $600,000 for children’s services at The Medical Center.
The Foundation also promotes training and continuing education in the health sciences through support of programs such as the Bunch McClellan Nursing Scholarship, the Fred Aranas Memorial Scholarship for Radiologic Technology and the Sue Schley Mathews Pediatric Nursing Fellowship Fund.
