Percutaneous Endoluminal Non-vascular Therapy

There are many diagnostic and therapeutic treatments that can be performed on the organs with the use of interventional radiology to eliminate the need of exposing the organs. Percutaneous endoluminal non-vascular therapies involve accessing the organs with minimally invasive, needle-based procedures. At the Doctors Hospital, we offer a number of treatments:

  • Draining of abscess, painful cysts and abnormal fluid collections
  • Thoracentesis, paracentesis and pleurodesis
  • Biopsies of thyroid, solid organ, soft tissue and bone mass/lesions
  • Transjugular liver biopsy with hemodynamic measurements
  • Treatment of bile duct and gallbladder disease through the placement of drainage tubes, cholangioplasty, metallic stents and stone extraction
  • Urinary interventions such as percutaneous nephrostomy, nephroureteral or internal ureteral stent placement
  • Access for surgical nephrolithotomy or laser lithotripsy
  • Gastrostomy or gastrojejunostomy feeding tubes
