The First Family Medicine Residency Program in Georgia

1900 BuildingWhen established in 1972, the Family Medicine Residency Program at The Medical Center in Columbus, GA became the first in Georgia and one of the first in the Southeastern United States.

Today, the Family Medicine Residency Program is a fully accredited, three-year program that emphasizes development of clinical responsibility in a strong academic setting.

Along with an Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency Program for osteopathic medical students interested in pursuing graduate medical education, we offer a Transitional Year Family Medicine Residency Program.
