Continuing Medical and Clinical Education at The Medical Center

The Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia trains tomorrow’s healthcare providers through their broad range of services and advanced clinical programs.

  • Family Medicine Residency Program: The Medical Center has been home to the Family Medicine Residency Program since 1972. The nationally recognized program (which was the first of its kind in Georgia and one of the first in the Southeast) has graduated more than 300 family physicians.
     
  • Pharmacy Residency Program: Six pharmacy residency programs, accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), emphasize the practice of pharmaceutical care through the
    integration of drug distribution, practice management and clinical services.
     
  • Transitional Year Residency Program: Training in Columbus Regional's unique Transitional Year Residency Program provides residents a superb fundamental clinical skills experience balanced by a broad exposure to specialty practices. The Transitional Year Residency Program at The Medical Center has received commendation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education for its faculty support and scholarship activitites and has been recognized as a "Notable Practice."
