Everything Points My Way! Program
Columbus Regional values the contributions made by our employees, and strives to recognize each employee for their dedication, commitment, service excellence and the many other things they do to make Columbus Regional the outstanding organization it is today.
An umbrella of recognition falls under the Everything points my way! Program which awards points for recognition, achievements and participation in many programs, including birthday recognition, service awards, instant recognition, quarterly blood drives, wellness incentives, performance/achievement, perfect attendance and retirement.
“I Make The Difference!” Program and Reunion
This program encourages Columbus Regional employees, patients and visitors to recognize employees who have a positive effect on others and make significant contributions to improvement of quality, productivity, cost containment and patient care.
Six employees are selected each month by the “I Make The Difference!” committee and invited to attend the monthly Chairman’s Council meeting with our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Larry Sanders.
During the meeting, the winners are recognized by Mr. Sanders and presented with a number of gift items. In addition, these employees are honored annually with a special reunion day.
Tuition Reimbursement
Columbus Regional provides tuition benefits for employees who are pursuing job-related education. Under this program, an employee may be reimbursed for tuition, registration, laboratory fees and books up to $3,000 per fiscal year.
This benefit is available after you have completed your probationary period (six months) and if you are scheduled to work 1,000 or more hours a year.
Fitness First
Employees have access to a campus health fitness facility and the opportunity to participate in an annual incentive-based wellness program.
Employee Assistance Program
This program provides assistance to employees with personal or family problems which may jeopardize their personal health and continued employment. It also provides information about appropriate services and programs in the community and coordinates referrals to community-based providers.
Quarterly and Annual Service Awards Program
Columbus Regional recognizes employees who exhibit long-standing dedication with an awards program to acknowledge their service milestones.
Quarterly, Columbus Regional recognizes employees who have reached their 5-, 10- and 15-year anniversaries. A tea ceremony is held in their honor at the Columbus Regional Conference Center at The Medical Center.
Employees who have reached major milestones in their careers with 20-, 25-, 30- and 35-year anniversaries are honored annually during a special awards banquet at a local country club.
Employee Appreciation Week
During the second week of May each year, Columbus Regional employees enjoy a week filled with a variety of enjoyable activities. Our employees are key to our success, and the week is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate thanks and recognition for their hard work and dedication.
Employees enjoy catered meals, daily prize drawings, a variety of events and an employee appreciation luncheon. The luncheon also features the announcement of the Chairman’s Award of Excellence. This highest award of Columbus Regional is presented to individuals who have made a significant contribution to quality patient care and display a high level of dedication, customer service and loyalty.
Holiday Dinners
The holidays are very special times for Columbus Regional employees. They allow a time to reflect upon the previous year and say “thank you” to those who have meant so much to us. Our senior managers, department heads, board members and physicians give time out of their schedules to serve the employees a traditional holiday meal.
This is a time of fun and fellowship. Santa himself stops in with his bag full of goodies and employees enjoy door prizes and holiday music. It truly is a time for celebration.
Fitness Center/Wellness First
The Employee Fitness Center aims to help employees reach optimal health through positive lifestyle habits, including exercise and nutrition. The facility is located in the 1900 building on the Columbus Regional campus and is open from 6 a.m.-midnight daily.
To assist employees with fitness goals, the Fitness First Team has a health/fitness consultant available for one–on–one counseling on a variety of health topics, including weight loss, exercise and nutrition.
Wellness First is a healthy lifestyle incentive program designed to fit the habits and needs of every employee. A variety of health, fitness and education programs are offered to employees throughout the year. The program encourages healthy lifestyle choices while recognizing that healthier employees mean dollars saved in reduced medical and insurance costs.
Cafeteria/Pharmacy Discounts
Employees of Columbus Regional enjoy the benefits of discounted hot meals in the Fountain Food Court (employee cafeteria). They also have the opportunity to pay for their meals through payroll deduction.
A 10 percent discount for prescription drugs also is offered to employees and may be paid through payroll deduction.
