Beth
Bussey, MS, RD, LD -
coordinates nutrition oncology services for John B Amos Cancer
Center, an outpatient clinic of the Columbus Regional Health System
in Columbus, GA. Nutritional factors span the entire cancer
experience including prevention, treatment, survivorship, and
palliative care. Beth provides medical nutrition therapy for
patients and their families in the hope of reducing the incidence of
cancer in the community and increasing successful outcomes to cancer
treatments. Beth enjoys weekly TV appearances with local network
affiliates to promote cancer awareness. When Beth is not giving
dietary advice, she is usually riding her bike with her husband,
Andy. They recently completed the Bike Ride Across Georgia. The
Busseys have four grown children.
Beth received a BA degree from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA.
She continued her studies at Georgia State University, also in
Atlanta, earning both BS and MS degrees in nutrition. Beth received
her registration as a dietitian in 1980. Beth’s previous experience
includes teaching at Morehouse School of Medicine and the University
of Alabama at Birmingham. She helped to develop the popular EatRight
cookbook series with Oxmoor House and is quoted in numerous
publications. She is a requested public speaker as she transforms
