

Columbus, GA – The promotions of two Columbus Regional vice presidents were announced, effective November 1.
Wayne Joiner has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Columbus Regional. Joiner joined The Medical Center in 1981 as an employment specialist. His responsibilities have increased progressively over the years. He was appointed to vice president of Human Resources for Columbus Regional in 1990. Joiner has responsibility for Human Resources for the entire organization, including Doctors Hospital, The Medical Center and Hughston Hospital.
Joiner is a graduate of Columbus State University and earned a master’s degree in personnel management from Troy State University in Alabama.
Tripp Layfield has been promoted to Senior Vice President and General Legal Counsel for Columbus Regional. Layfield joined Columbus Regional as director of Legal Services in 2002 following seven years in private law practice in Columbus. He was promoted to Vice President and General Counsel in 2003.
Layfield earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Auburn University. He holds a Juris Doctor from Mercer University Law School and is admitted to practice law in Georgia, Alabama and the District of Columbia.
